Along the trail, at the park, even in your own back yard--seemingly empty holes may in fact be full of life. If your dog is on the scent, she may be zeroing in on the high traffic surrounding an animal's hole in the ground. Look for signs such as freshly loosened dirt or bits of grasses/bedding materials dropped near the hole.
